THE GOOD VIBES FROM BOREDOM
Every single
day of our life is full of activities. Whether the activities are just stay in
the same position or in this millennial generations called stuck. The people
who working at the company had habit to go to the company and do the same job
all day as they have been received before. Are they feeling bored?. Or are
they feel comfortable with the same job they did every day?. According to heathline.com
boredom is marked by an
empty feeling, as well as a sense of frustration with that emptiness. Those people will feel that. Even though it
is not often happened in their life. Several of them will choose the first
options on the other hand, they will choose it's okay to do the same job every day.
Then, what the good vibes from boredom?. Are you ever thinking about this?. Thinking
about "Well, I didn't know that the boredom can give us good benefit.
The
people who agree with this will say that is a new way to see the other side of
boredom. As Sandi Mann said there are 2 reasons why boredom is good:
Firstly,
boredom make us creative. As Mann said “if we can’t find that, our mind will
create it.” From there, we can get the
meaning that’s boredom can create creativity with our mind.
Secondly,
for the mental health boredom also has it. As Mann said “day-dreaming is part
of boredom. Day-dreaming called enough for the rest. The rest from all of
around you. For the adult people can rest from work, for the students can rest
from the task, games or another application that’s make them tired and losing focus,
and for the age quite to married can rest from their relationship that’s make their
mental health.
Furthermore,
according to some psychologists believe boredom is a trait. The ‘Boredom Proneness
Scale’ measures our propensity to feel bored. By contrast, the ‘Multidimensional
State Boredom Scale’ measures a person’s feelings of boredom in a given
situation. It is because is a dynamic state where it will change sometimes.
As Canadian professor, Eastwood said that 2
types of personality that suffer from boredom, and neither is particularly dull.
He did because to claims that’s perceptions “only boring people get bored.”
The
first type, the people who had an impulsive and looking for a
new experience.
The
second type, the people who had frightened about the
world. They are trying to out of their line. This is because they had pain in before.
However,
boredom can do it in the right way. Mann says “Important not to conflate
boredom with relaxation.” She suggested picking the activities that need a
little struggle or without concentration like walking in the similar area,
swimming or just sit in the chair with the closed eyes, it’s also let your mind.
In addition, Mann said that is paradoxically
both destroying our ability to be bored, and preventing us from ever being
truly entertained. Also, she said “We’re trying to swipe and scroll the boredom
away, but in doing that, we’re actually making ourselves more prone to boredom,
because every time we get our phone out we’re not allowing our mind to wander
and to solve our own boredom problems,”. Mann also pointed out to “Our tolerance for boredom just changes completely,
and we need more and more to stop being bored.”
In conclusion, boredom is empty feeling for some reasons. Every body believe
that boredom is a trouble, but on the other hand there are people who disagree
about that. To the people who agree to this statement, there are many good things
that will you get from boredom. The good things are; make us creative as Mann pointed
that it’s we can find, our mind create it, the part of one boredom is day-dreaming,
day-dreaming also called enough rest, in addition Mann recommendation to picking the activities that need a
little struggle or without concentration like walking in the similar area.
You can do or receive another that
will suit with you. Just believe everything has a positive meaning and good
vibes though.
